My very own Baby bag!
I’ve always wanted a carry-it-all baby bag that fits everything I need. With a baby and a toddler, I found that no trip is exactly ‘luggage free’! There are always things to bring, no matter how short the trip is .. of course, I am really the ever prepared mom with that spare set of socks or a spare attire for the just in case occasions.. For short trips, I can always dump things into my tote.. buy really.. what about overnight and day-long trips?? I found that I really need a new bag! 😛
I know, I know, there are many commercials bags out there, but nothing beats a hand made bag tailored to my own needs… not to mention the cute prints I get to choose, how many pockets I want, the SIZE of the bag itself.. plus.. have you seen the price on those baby bags? makes you blink a couple of times doesn’t it?
It always fascinates me, the making of a bag. My first try was an Amy Butler tote (which I will post later), and having the teeny bit of experience with a bag, I decided to try designing my own baby bag.
Inspired by the Amy Butler Weekender, I started to design my bag, and made a tutorial (yeah, I’m afraid I’d missed something and can’t undo it!) and carefully chose the fabric to use (imported of course). My oh my, who could resist those Michael Miller cute prints? Alast, I decided on the new Animal Jungle line. Once I received the fabrics, I couldn’t wait to snip away! With a bit of searching for the right stuff for the bag.. I finally had everything I needed..and once the preparation was done, the sewing part was surprisingly smooth and easy! Voila! Here’s a picture of my baby carry all bag. The bag is good and stuffed – I was trying it for our overnight trip.
The bag is made of 100% cotton imported designer, fully lined, with a waterproof base. It is also washable. I really love this bag! Next on the list are the coordinating changing pads, wetbag, and bottle warmer.
